Battery safety & charging

Your drone battery is a rechargeable lithium battery designed specifically for this drone. Improper use, charging, storage, or transport may cause damage, reduced performance, overheating, fire, or injury.

Read before first use. Always read and follow all battery safety instructions before operating or charging the battery.

Charging

Use the correct charger

Always

  • Charge only with the supplied or an officially approved charger.
  • Use only the charging cable provided in the package.

Do not

  • Use incompatible or modified chargers — this can damage the battery and void the warranty.
  • Modify the charging cable, adapter, or charging circuit.

Charging environment

Always charge

  • Indoors, in a dry, well-ventilated area.
  • On a flat, stable, non-flammable surface.
  • Away from paper, fabric, wood, carpets, curtains, chemicals, fuels, and other combustibles.
  • Away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Do not charge

  • Near water.
  • Inside a vehicle under direct sunlight.
  • In extremely hot or cold environments.
  • Inside a closed container or bag.

Before charging — inspect every time

Do not charge if the battery shows any of these

  • Swollen or bloated.
  • Dropped from a significant height.
  • Cracked casing.
  • Damaged terminals.
  • An unusual smell.
  • Signs of leakage.
  • Exposed to fire.
  • Submerged in water.

If any of the above apply, discontinue use immediately.

During charging

Always

  • Ensure sufficient airflow around the charger.
  • Keep children and pets away while charging.
  • Disconnect the charger once charging is complete.

Do not

  • Leave the battery charging unattended.
  • Cover the charger or battery.
  • Repeatedly plug and unplug while charging.
  • Charge overnight.
If the battery becomes unusually hot, swells, smokes, or emits an odour during charging, disconnect the charger immediately and move away if it is safe to do so.

Battery usage

Always use only batteries approved for this drone model.

Before every flight

  • Ensure the battery is fully inserted and securely locked.
  • Verify the battery has sufficient charge.
  • Inspect the battery housing for damage.

Never

  • Short-circuit the battery terminals.
  • Drop, crush, puncture, or strike the battery.
  • Disassemble or repair the battery.
  • Expose the battery to open flames.
  • Immerse the battery in water.
  • Use the battery if it has visible damage.

  • Operating or charging below freezing.
  • Operating or charging above 45°C.
  • Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Extreme temperatures can permanently reduce battery life and affect flight performance.

Storage

If the battery will not be used for an extended period:

Do

  • Store at approximately 40–60% charge.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep away from metal objects.
  • Recharge every 3 months to maintain battery health.

Never store

  • A fully discharged battery.
  • A battery in a hot vehicle.
  • Near combustible materials.

Transportation

When transporting batteries

  • Turn off the drone.
  • Remove the battery whenever possible.
  • Protect battery terminals from short circuits.
  • Carry batteries in protective cases.
  • Avoid crushing or placing heavy objects on batteries.
  • For air travel, always comply with airline regulations for lithium batteries.

Water exposure

If the battery contacts water

  • Do not charge it.
  • Dry the exterior only.
  • Discontinue use if water has entered the housing.
  • Replace the battery if internal damage is suspected.

Crash or impact

Inspect the battery carefully after any crash.

Do not reuse the battery if it has

  • Dents.
  • Cracks.
  • Swelling.
  • A separated casing.
  • Leakage.
A battery damaged in a crash may fail later, even if it appears to operate normally.

Battery lifespan

Battery capacity naturally decreases over time.

Replace the battery if

  • Flight time is significantly reduced.
  • The battery no longer charges normally.
  • Physical damage is observed.
  • The battery repeatedly overheats.
  • It has reached the recommended service life.

Charging power source safety

Use a reliable, stable power source. Do not charge if the power source appears unsafe or unstable:

Do not charge from

  • Loose, damaged, or broken wall sockets.
  • Burnt, discoloured, or sparking outlets.
  • Extension boards overloaded with high-power appliances.
  • Makeshift wiring or temporary power connections.
  • Outlets exposed to rain, moisture, or dust.
  • Supply that frequently fluctuates or drops out.
  • Generators or inverters without stable output.

Whenever possible

  • Use a charger and cable supplied or approved by NOT Drones.
  • Connect directly to a properly grounded wall outlet, not a loaded extension board.
  • Don't run multiple high-power devices on the same power strip.
  • Disconnect immediately if you notice heat, flickering power, a burning smell, or intermittent charging.

Travelling, or charging in hotels, campsites, or temporary accommodation? Inspect the outlet first — if it is loose, damaged, overheated, makes unusual sounds or odours, or shows arcing, do not use it.

Immediately stop using the battery if you observe any of these:

  1. 1 Move the battery to a safe outdoor location if it can be done safely.
  2. 2 Do not touch a burning battery with bare hands.
  3. 3 If a fire occurs, use a Class D fire extinguisher where available. If unavailable, large amounts of water can help cool lithium-ion battery fires and prevent spread.
  4. 4 Contact emergency services if the fire cannot be controlled.
